Kings Secure Technologies joins collaborative alliance to advance global standardised platform for security and safety solutions
Wednesday 26th September 2018: At a time when the Internet of Things (IoT) is rapidly evolving, and with it the aggregation of data, Kings Secure Technologies, the UK's largest independent fire & security specialist, is pleased to announce its position as an early member of the newly formed Open Security & Safety Alliance.
The Open Security & Safety Alliance (the Alliance) brings together organisations from around the globe, notably Bosch Building Technologies, Hanwha Techwin, Milestone Systems, Pelco™ by Schneider Electric and VIVOTEK Inc, who will come together to outline specifications for a common standardised platform for security and safety solutions accessible to everyone. Currently, security and safety solutions are fragmented due to a lack of a collaborative approach to common challenges including cyber security and operating systems. This is holding back innovation and seamless integration.
'As the first UK security integrator involved in the Alliance, this is a fantastic opportunity for Kings to facilitate significant change in the security industry through an open source platform. We are excited to be working alongside the other Alliance members and focussing on innovation and developments that will add real value for our customers.' said Darren Gamage, Kings' Chief Operating Officer.
About the Alliance
Over the last year, the founding members Bosch Building Technologies, Hanwha Techwin, Milestone Systems, Pelco™ by Schneider Electric and VIVOTEK Inc. have been working closely together and discussing with over 50 companies, varying from early adopters to established technology companies, to verify initial concepts. System integrators and distributors have been consulted to ensure that the Alliance covers the needs of all relevant parties. This initial input will help shape the standards and specifications that will eventually be consolidated in the Alliance framework.
Starting off with the five founding members and early adopters including Ambarella Inc., Anixter Inc., AndroVideo, Kings Secure Technologies and NetApp, the global alliance will focus on building standards, specifications, best practices, references and implementation guidelines. Together, the members of the Alliance can combine knowledge, expertise and experience in order to achieve mutual goals and create a new approach to the market.
